After completing my training in Somatic Body work and my first year as a body worker, I returned to the Strozzi Institute for a year long study of how to bring Somatic tools into my practice more. Initially, my commitment was to better support my clients with what would surface during body work sessions with body oriented inquiry, breath work and movement practices, but it quickly spread to supporting individuals in person and over zoom with major life transformations.
What I love most about my Somatic studies is how much it healed me first. I did not yet feel I was the invitation for others that I knew I needed to be and it would require that I go deeper into my own journey before I could truly support others.
For that entire year I persisted in my Aikido and Somatic Coaching training and committed to certain somatic practices 1-3 times per day for 365 days. Most of them I continue to practice today. They have become the foundation for my understanding of the anatomy of change and my own transformation personally and professionally.
Today, I share my practices with others and especially love coaching individuals in the development of practices that will support their resilience and reaching their greatest potential. I especially work with other fempreneurs and practitioners, trauma survivors, midlife women, and youth.
I am currently enjoying expanding in my Somatic Therapies to include group workshops that employ somatic principles with connecting deeply to the environment. I believe that our understanding of our own nature and nature around us are deeply connected and symbiotic and requires practices that open us to the experience and support our embodiment of them.
