Body Wise Beats

In 2016 I had the honor and privelege of taking part in a drum making workshop and made my first drum, an 18” Elk Hide drum.
Throughout the years since, I have made several more drums and have since been rarely seen without them in healing sessions, leading ceremonies and joining circles. In March of 2025 I made a bear hide drum. During my journey with the Bear and during the
making of the drum, I was shown a vision of my future as a Bear Medicine Woman, that I would be stepping into the roll of teacher and this drum would lead the way. That year I began making drums to sell and with great success that birthed Body Wise
Beats. In 2026 I will lead my first workshop of 16 women to go through the same ceremony and make drums together. My dream is to teach young women the art of drum making and develop the
practice of being with the rhythm of the heart as a right of passage into womanhood. I benefited from some amazing at risk youth programs as a teen going through the process of emancipation and I feel very strongly that this art would be a gift to the mind, body and spirit of so many young women who may not know any other way to balance their brain and hormones, connect to their own heart, journey with their guides and ancestors and join the rhythm of a collective.
